garlic VARIETIES WE EXPORT

Imports of garlic from India encompass several varieties, such as Agrifound White, Yamuna Safed, and more. Indian garlic exporters specialize in shipping premium quality garlic to various corners of the world. The export of garlic includes a diverse range of varieties, catering to different preferences and markets.

v1

AGRIFOUND WHITE

The Agrifound White variety of garlic was developed through mass selection from a local collection sourced from the Biharsharif area in Bihar. The bulbs of this variety are compact and characterized by a silvery-white exterior with creamy flesh. However, Agrifound White is susceptible to common diseases like purple blotch and stemphylium blight, particularly prevalent in northern regions. Despite its susceptibility, this variety boasts a yield of approximately 130 quintals per hectare.

v2

YAMUNA SAFED (G-1)

The Yamuna Safed variety of garlic was developed through mass selection from a local collection sourced from the Delhi (Azadpur) market. Featuring compact bulbs with silvery-white skin and creamy flesh, this variety is characterized by sickle-shaped cloves numbering between 25-30. Notably, Yamuna Safed is tolerant to various insect pests and diseases, including purple blotch, stemphylium blight, and onion thrips.

v3

YAMUNA SAFED-2 (G-50)

The Yamuna Safed-2 variety of garlic was developed through mass selection from a local collection sourced from the Karnal area in Haryana. Characterized by compact and attractive bulbs with white creamy flesh, this variety boasts an average yield of around 150-200 quintals per hectare. Yamuna Safed-2 is particularly recommended for cultivation in Northern India.

v4

YAMUNA SAFED-3 (G-282)

The Yamuna Safed-3 variety has demonstrated success in both Northern and Central parts of India. Developed in 1990 through mass selection technique from a local collection obtained from Dindigul, this variety stands out with its wider leaves compared to other varieties. The bulbs of Yamuna Safed-3 are characterized by their creamy-white color and larger size.

v5

AGRIFOUND PARVATI

The Agrifound Parvati variety of garlic was developed in 1992 through selection from an exotic collection obtained from the Hong Kong market. As a long-day type, it is well-suited for cultivation in the mid and high hills of Northern states. The bulbs of this variety are notably larger in size and exhibit a creamy white color with a pinkish tinge.

v6

YAMUNA SAFED-4 (G-323)

The Yamuna Safed-4 variety was developed through mass selection technique from a local collection obtained from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Featuring compact and attractive bulbs with a creamy white color, this variety typically matures in about 165-175 days. With an average yield of around 200-250 quintals per hectare, Yamuna Safed-4 is a promising choice for garlic cultivation.

v7

PORCELAIN GARLIC

The Porcelain Garlic variety is characterized by its classic and pearly white color, along with a stiff neck. Typically, it holds four or five uniform cloves. The neck primarily consists of the remains of the bulb’s shoots, forming a snaky tangle known as the “scape,” which can also be used in cooking. Apart from its aesthetic appeal, Porcelain garlic is renowned for its simple and robust taste.

v8

ROCAMBOLE GARLIC

The Rocambole Garlic variety is characterized by its purple-streaked appearance and loose skin. Known for its bold flavor, this garlic does not have a long shelf life. It contains high levels of sulfenic acid, which impart a chili-like burning taste to the garlic, contributing to its distinctive flavor profile.
